Are you interested in participating in a freediving competition? If so, it’s important to be well-prepared for an enjoyable experience and to perform at your best. That’s why we’ve created the Competition Workshop, a three-day class that covers everything you need to know about freediving competitions, including the rules of AIDA (International Association for the Development of Apnea), the specific rules of the Azul Freediving Challenge, and essential tips for success.
Here’s what the workshop offers over three days:
Throughout the workshop, you’ll be part of a small group of first-time participants, working together as a team to support each other during the competition. Keep in mind that there’s a special prize for the best first-time participant! Let’s aim for that recognition together.
Included in the price :
Constant weight without fins is the most difficult depth discipline, as it requires the most refined technique. This WS is intended for everyone interested on improving their Constant Weight Without Fins technique, and will be presented by ROBERTO GUZMAN, Mexican National Champion, and 4 times National Record Holder and PETER ABAJI from Pranamaya Freediving School.

Like any other competition, you will need to train to be ready, not only to get back in shape but also to get use to the location, the water conditions and the competition setting.
On September 18th, 19th & 20th we organize training days for all the competitors with the same conditions than on the competition, including safety team, counterweight, tags, countdown, starting list…
Not included in the price :
if you have no previous freediving competition experience you should sign up to the workshop and not to those trainings (see above).
Pranamaya Freediving offers regular training throughout the year, except during competition week. Get prepared throughout the summer in the most beautiful cenotes of the region, including Yum Kin, where the Azul Freediving Challenge is organized.

Join Chris McCay, an experienced safety freediver from world championships, VB, and numerous high-level events, along with Rodrigo Salsas, the chief of safety of the Azul Freediving Challenge, in this advanced safety workshop. This course, recognized by AIDA, is highly recommended for those aspiring to be part of a safety team in freediving competitions. You will learn essential teamwork skills for both pool and depth events, as well as the necessary steps to rescue and evacuate a freediver in an emergency.
Risk Management: Gain a comprehensive understanding of the potential risks and hazards associated with freediving. Learn how to identify and mitigate these risks effectively to prevent accidents and injuries.
Emergency Preparedness: Acquire essential techniques and protocols for handling emergency situations in freediving.
